Why this is a
Masterpiece

Chosen and explained by Minoru MIO "Tradition and Acculturation in India". The Goddess Festival in the state is characterized by its dance. These days the festival dance has become more entertainment-like, and the costumes are showier. Economic development in India may eventually influence the festival. I will develop the collection and exhibition from the standpoint of both tradition and change in India.

History of the Object
In 2003, the first collecting project which I was involved in when starting my new job at Minpaku, was about the change of the Goddess Festival held in the autumn in Gujarat, West India. This is one of the collections which I purchased for the project the first time.
