This double-sided openwork relief sculpture by the master Cheung Yee is modeled with four totem poles. Each tortoise shell is carved with round holes that look like limpets and almond-shaped holes that represent the indentations, and the wriggling worms eaten traces link up various front and back void spaces. This representative work conveys an archaic and mythical aura with a touch of solemnity and dynamism.
