Why this is a
Masterpiece

The Vienna Bentwood Sofa/Settee is a masterpiece of early Viennese/Austrian furniture manufacture. Vienna bentwood furniture was the first prefabricated knockdown furniture of the 20th century. The sofa is unusual because of its height and the severity and simplicity of design.

History of the Object
The Vienna Bentwood Sofa/Settee is shown in an old family sepia photograph. Members of the Panlilio family are shown sitting on the sofa, posed for a group picture in the 1920s.
