Why this is a
Masterpiece

The plaque is unique because it is evidence of a well developed glaze technique in the 16th Century.

History of the Object
Glazed Plaque depicting the warriors of Māra in a dreadful figurine. In Buddhism, a Māra is the demon who tempted Gautama Buddha. Māra personifies the "death" of the spiritual life. He is a demonic figure, a virtually all-powerfull God of Evil distracting humans from practicing the spiritual life.
