Why this is a
Masterpiece

The most famous white porcelain of Korea is moon jar which is highly appreciated by people on the points of its deep white color and the texture of the glaze. We believe this bowl is another type of white porcelain which people will admire because of its artistic quality and beauty.

History of the Object
This white porcelain bowl is an undecorated, pure white porcelain vessel. It has a curved, flaring lip. In the latter half of the 15th century the manufacture of white porcelain was commissioned and controlled by the government office known as Saongwon, which had official kilns at Bunwon, Kyonggi province. The production of white porcelain was promoted and hence experienced prosperity.
