The clothes chest has a beautiful flower and bird design. It is very colorful and an excellent piece of craftmanship.

History of the Object
A Hwa Cho Jang is a clothes and blanket chest with flower and bird drawings. Generally a Hwa Cho Jang has two doors in each level.The use of Hwa Cho Jang spread widely among common people as well as the nobility and the royal family. Depending on class, the type of Hwa Cho Jang differed in design and in the type of wood used. This one has three levels with a top level that has four small drawers. The door handles and hinges on each door have the shape of a butterfly. On the circumference Sib Jang Seng (ten animals that live long) and Hwa Jo Moon (flower and birds) are colorfully drawn.
