This jug has a beautiful pattern and is exemplary for Azerbaijani pottery in the early middle ages.

History of the Object
Pottery first appeared in Azerbaijan in the period of the New Stone Age (7th century B.C.) and went on being developed into the early middle ages. Azerbaijani potters produced vessels of various forms and decorated them with ornaments as in ancient times. The handle of this jug is made in the form of braid.
