Why this is a
Masterpiece

This is the only piece of its kind in Brunei Museum's collection. It is a pouring vessel or water dropper in the shape of an elephant and a rider. The trunk and tusks are missing. The material is buff stoneware with a brownish glaze which has disappeared except on some tiny parts of the body.

History of the Object
Discovered in 1997 during an offshore excavation in the Brunei waters.
