One of the finest stone sculptures of the Bagan Period.

History of the Object
This is a sculpture on a stone slab showing the taming of the Nalagiri Elephant. It is one of the popular episodes of the life of the Buddha. On the stone slab, two great monks are standing at the right and left side of the Buddha. The elephant is sitting, paying homage to the Buddha.
